Intervention and Referral Services are designed to assist general education students who are experiencing learning and/or behavior difficulties.
The I&RS Committee, a school-based support team, will meet to assist staff in addressing students' learning, behavior, or social emotional needs. Parents will be contacted prior to the initial meeting, and as a collaborative team, we will implement a plan!
As a committee, we will identify the students' difficulty, collect information on the identified difficulty, develop AND implement action plans which include appropriate interventions or referrals (to school and community resources), provide continuous support, actively involve parents or guardians, and maintain/monitor records as well as the action plan. The action plan will be modified, as appropriate, to achieve the desired outcomes. This will be done at a follow-up review meeting.
Most importantly - we are here to help!
