I&RS - Intervention and Referral Services

Last item for navigation

Intervention and Referral Services are designed to assist general education students who are experiencing learning, behavior, or health difficulties.

The I&RS Committee, a school-based support team, will meet to assist staff who have difficulties in addressing students' learning, behavior, or health needs. Parents will be contacted after our initial meeting, and as a collaborative team, we will implement a plan! You will continue to communicate with your child's "teacher mentor" through out the remaining school year. This "teacher mentor" will be someone from our I&RS committee who will help make sure your child is succeeding.

As a committee, we will identify the students' difficulty, collect thorough information on the identified difficulty, develop AND implement action plans which include appropriate interventions or referrals (to school and community resources), provide continuous support, actively involve parents or guardians, and maintain/monitor records as well as the action plan. The action plan will be modified, as appropriate, to achieve the desired outcomes. This will be done at a follow-up review meeting.

Most importantly - we are here to help!
